Angelica Romo

My body of work includes figure drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, and sculpture to show my vast range of abilities. In these artistic works I explore the woman figure and how society views her from religious iconography and sanctification to slut shaming and witch hunting to a modern woman and her aspirations . The idolization of women for their beauty and pureness creates an unrealistic expectation for women and men that those who do not fit the mold or do something perceived as degenerate they are shunned from idolization and seen as devils, succubus or witches. Gods, Goddess’, and virgins slowly decaying from the treatment of women leaving behind gold tears , and silk robes.
